Sales Manager Cryopreservation
We are searching for a dynamic, customer-focused Sales Manager to continue the successful commercialization of Pharmacosmos' cryopreservation business in Europe and Asia, with sales as the core focus. The role requires a high understanding of the workflow in pharma/biotech companies and/or hospitals or cell laboratories, and exemplary sales experience. The Sales Manager will drive sales while managing key strategic projects to help meet our customers’ objectives and maximize our opportunities. The Sales Manager will be part of the Carbohydrate Sales and Marketing team, which reports directly to the International Sales & Business Director (based in Denmark). The position is field based, with the option of working at the Pharmacosmos office in Holbæk, Denmark.
Approximately 120 days travel. The rest of the time is spent at the Headquarter, Holbæk, Denmark.

Pharmacosmos is the world leader in pharmaceutical quality carbohydrates, including a full range of dextran products. Our offerings include products that meet the US, European and Japanese pharmacopoeias.
Pharmacosmos further offers Dextran Ultra (very narrow distributions), Technical Quality Dextrans, Dextran Standards and GPC Standards. Pharmacosmos’ dextran products are manufactured for pharmaceutical and technical applications. Through advanced development, production technique and the highest standard of laboratory control combined with good and reliable service to the customers, Pharmacosmos has established a position as the leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical quality dextran products. Pharmacosmos recently completed a new synthesis facility enabling the company to manufacture a range of carbohydrate derivatives, with applications ranging from vaccines adjuvants to chromatographic applications.
The newest focus of Pharmacosmos’ carbohydrate business area is the application of carbohydrates in cryopreservation of cells and tissues. Cell therapies are anticipated to be the medical break-through of the century, but many supporting technologies must be improved in order for the field to realize its potential. The established standards for cryopreservation of cells are based on Dimethyl Sulfoxide (DMSO), which has a number of drawbacks in relation to side effects and handling. As a consequence, there is a growing demand from researchers and clinicians to eliminate or dramatically reduce the use of DMSO. Pharmacosmos has developed promising carbohydrate-based alternatives to DMSO with improved safety and at least equivalent efficacy. Pharmacosmos PentaHibe® (containing Pentaisomaltose®) is a safe and effective alternative to dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) for cryopreservation of cells. The objective is now to leverage Pharmacosmos’ existing cGMP production platform and to build supporting evidence and support for a new paradigm in cryopreservation.
