Your Role


As the Global Business Intelligence Specialist, you have the overall responsibilities of development and maintenance of Pharmacosmos’ Business Intelligence and data platform for the corporate headquarter in Denmark and the European affiliates. At Pharmacosmos our aim is to take advantage of modern data platforms and build on the existing success within reporting and data usage.

This includes assessing user reporting/data needs across all functions, supporting the data needs of the corporate management team, basic data modelling in the Azure Data Factory-based Data Warehouse, building and improving a broad menu of reports in Power BI, and participation on projects that involve new or changed data flows. The person in this position will be the main driver of BI excellence in Pharmacosmos, and significantly impacts the data vision and strategy of “how we use data” in Pharmacosmos.

The role requires a good business acumen on top of excellent practical SQL and Power BI skills and experience. You will drive centralization of vital data areas and use external consultants for larger developments.

The Global Business Intelligence Specialist will be part of the Strategic Projects and Systems group and will report directly to the Director of this group.

Your Tasks


  • Ownership of Pharmacosmos’ data warehouse (Azure Data Factory-based) for corporate and affiliate use in Europe. Responsible for management and development of the platform which is fully cloud-based.
    • Daily/monthly monitoring of data loads and error-finding.
    • Project lead in all developments of the platform, typically using external consultants.
    • Continual improvement our data availability and data insights. 
  • End-to-end responsibility for the Power BI front end: Reporting and analyses
    • Creative reporting development based on business requests and critical thinking.
    • Trends and insights for steering the business and driving sales. Decision making support.
    • Pro-active data services to senior business managers and the corporate management team.
    • Drive the efforts to further increase the utilization and value of Power BI.
    • Evaluate Power Apps/Automate – and other Power Platform tools – as enablers of data entry/maintenance, comment entry and efficient use of Power BI.
  • Communication and visibility
    • Ensure visibility and knowledge of our Power BI platform and drive adoption.
    • Enablement – run end user sessions for end users to ensure data availability meets the business needs. 
  • Data integrity
    • Evaluate and ensure a very high level of data integrity across the data platform. 
  • Additional responsibilities
    • Providing inputs, experience and expertise on other IT systems developments, especially where data flows are changed or added.
    • Guiding affiliates at the start of their Power BI journey by being the subject matter expert and ensuring a smooth transition over to on-demand reporting for the business.
    • Investigating the potential of PowerApps and other initiatives in the Power Platform from Microsoft to ensure Pharmacosmos continues to make the most of the investment in IT infrastructure.

Your Qualifications


Technically we expect you be:

  1. Creative, extensive, and advanced user of Microsoft Power BI
  2. Familiar with SSIS or Azure Data Factory
  3. Proficient in SQL
  4. It is an advantage if you have Power BI certifications

Specific requirements:

  1. Fluency in spoken and written English
  2. Danish resident

Place of work is Pharmacosmos HQ in Holbæk. We offer flexible work from home opportunities which can be arranged with your direct manager. Limited travel may be required (5-10 days per year).
