Research overview
Pharmacosmos conducts research in carbohydrate polymers and iron
carbohydrate complexes with favorable toxicological profiles. Our
pharmaceutical management group and scientific staff have extensive
knowledge and experience in discovering promising drug candidates
for clinical trials.
Iron carbohydrate complexes
Pharmacosmos conducts research focused on identification of
novel pharmaceutical compounds for intravenous iron injection and
total dose iron infusion for treatment of iron deficiency
anemia.
Carbohydrate polymers
Carbohydrate polymers are used extensively for clinical and
technical applications. Pharmacosmos is committed to pioneering
research targeted at identifying yet unknown therapeutic
applications of dextran.
Furthermore, Pharmacosmos perpetually investigates other
carbohydrate polymers with the objective of recognizing encouraging
chemical and physical chemical properties, e.g. for use as
complexing agents in iron complexes.
